Bootcamp

My son is leaving this Tuesday for bootcamp.  I am both nervous and proud of my boy.  Anyone else have a child leaving on this Tuesday?

  • Anybody in Ship 2 Division 930 PIR date 6/8/2012?

  • If anyone needs phone cards, go to calls for recruits .org or send me a message....

Congrats and Good Luck to all.....

My son will graduate on 4/13....I'm so excited!!!!!!!

  • Well we head to San Antonio tomorrow to see my son Dalton get inducted in the Navy and he heads to the Great Lakes on Tuesday the time is now at hand
  • My daughter Rachel arrived at Great Lakes last night (the 14th of March) and was definitely freaked out when we got the phone call.  I'm feeling a little helpless.. but proud because I know that this training will give her an outstanding sense of accomplishment and will give her direction in life.

  • Paul, my daughter leaves next Saturday the 17th. she's ready, I'm not. haha.

  • Mike, did your daughter leave today or is she going to leave on Sat?

  • Rich, That is the truth.  My son seems like it is no big deal.  I am so proud of him because he made this decision and it is a step toward him truly becoming a man.  I sit up some nights just thinking about when I came into his life.  I am step dad but have raised him since he was 3 1/2.  It seems like yesterday and now he is going away.  UGH.... Hang in there Rich and you and your family will be in our prayers.

  • Rich, I think you're right. it is harder on us I believe. I can tell my daughter is a bit nervous but not showing it to much. she's already hoping for certain duty stations. haha.

  • Our son shipped out at about 2:30 yesterday. At midnight we received our phone call. Said he would call us in about three weeks. I think this is harder on us rather then him.......

  • Yes time is getting short Charles. All we can do is have faith in the way we have raised them and know they will make us proud. Tell your son thank you for his commitment and God Bless.
