  • Instead say. Got out and show them how it's done son! Keep your eye on the prize. I remember writing these words all the time with a diver hemet stickers on his letters. I think it worked he passed all his schools like nothing. :)))). God is good!
  • Yes. Just type in. Navyformoms. And no they don't read anything here. But I know the RDC s their trainers. So be careful what you write also it's a good idea not to use your whole names for security reasons from outsiders reading in. Especially if he s special ops division like mine was. But still for safety for both him and you. They enforce that a lot at the moms site. im sure here too. Check it out and look for your sons division group and see the blogs etccc. :).
  • Ohhh. Thank you. I did not think about the word miss. You see hearing those little things from other parents help me so much through this journey. I thought that if I said "i miss you" he will know how much I love him, but you are absolutely right. Thank you so much!!!!

  • Hello2u,

Thank you so much. I did not know there was a Navy for mom. What's that website name? You see I don't know nothing. I was wondering why the website was called only Navydad!! LOL

There is one for moms!!! I will like to have both. Will our kid ever be able to see what we write here?

  • Brenda. Don't forget to join the navy for moms site too. Both sites have so much to learn from. Also. Just an fyi. The navy makes our boys grow up into young men. My son went in last year. And we too used to be so close. Now he s got his own place a girlfriend. and don't see him much. It sad when they grow up he s my first born and miss him all the time. But my faith in God gives me strength to let go. Because they were never ours to begin with. Children of God. So by week three if you don't hear from him. The Blues will set in. But just know he s ok he s got a roof over his head and learning something incredible. Keep writing send inspiration quotes prayer cards. Cartoons. Pics of pets with a blurb. Lol. And any movies you saw tell him about it. Besides what's happening at home. And keep the word. "miss" to a min. Where trying not to make him feel bad or homesick.
  • LOL...yes, the box was first.....then the form letter.....I just looked for the exact dates and cannot find them, but the box and form letter arrived sooner than I had anticipated or been told.

  • My Son this is for you today. Today is day #6 and I can't barely wait to hear from you. I Love You so Very Much!!!!2474935003?profile=original

  • Thank you.

You are so right! We are not used to wait, but we tell our kids to have patience, at least I did!!! LOL. That what parents do right!. We want the best of the best for them and expect the best from them as well.

I think that the Navy did a great job by doing this site because seeing the videos of how things are calmed me down a little.

So, I'm sorry to ask more questions. Did you received the letter and famous box in 2 weeks?

By the way ...Congrats to your son graduation that is wonderful. I bet you are so exited!2474934938?profile=original

  • Hi Brenda: -- "no news is good news" --  As much as wish to hear from our sons/daughters, unless it is their time to telephone home, hearing their voice may mean something else.....  Our journey has been full and we hope to receive the "Sailor" phone call on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 for PIR on October 10, 2014.  No, our sons/daughters do not have Internet access while in active boot camp.  You will receive his box, his form letter, and a phone call.  I found the Navy was quite fair in letting us know the details......  We (as parents) are not always used to waiting....lol   Enjoy the journey.....

  • Thank You Patrick.

I'm writing letters every day and I have them by day#1 etc. I calculated like 56 days because they said he will be away in the boot camp 8 weeks and then graduation. I write a verses from the bible with a messages on his FB page everyday and I text him everyday. I know he can't see any of this yet, but once he is able to access his computer and cellphone he will see that. I never stop writing.

I just hope I can find out soon his address since I'm getting a little anxious as the days pass by and no call yet.

Can they read what we write in this blogs?

By any chance, Does anybody knows if the recruits can read this blog/ NAVYDADS?
