Left for Boot on 10-5-10

Our son Brandon left for Boot on Monday the 4th of October and reported for duty on the 5th. We will miss him dearly, but we are very proud of him and know he will do well. Good luck Son!

Mom and Dad

P.S. The boot videos really help to see what goes on in boot and what Brandon will be encountering. Thank you

  • Our son SR alton is in Ship:2/ DIV 903. Anyone with a SR in the same ship/DIV? His PIR should be 1st week of Dec.
  • Congratulations ! Our son arrived at RTC on wed night 10/6/10, it's been tough these past few days and i find myself thinking of what he's doing all my waking hours and having gone through it 35 years ago i know he's hating it. The way i figured it, his PIR should be the second week of Dec, they could very well be in the same div since they arrived at about the same time. Please keep in touch with me and we can go through this trying time together.( quirk@cox.net). I'm now thinking we might be better off flying into Millwakee instead of Chicago.Good Luck & God bless them. Pete Quirk
  • congrats to you and your son best advice is to send letters as often as you can from the whole family my said said it was the one thing he looked forward to had his pir 8/16 2010 encourgement is the best thing for them good luck to you and your son and welcome to the family
  • I know at point in the Navy journey eight weeks sounds like forever, but as you get ready for PIR you'll see the time goes by much faster than you think. Read though old posts in the Bootcamp and PIR groups so you know what to expect and when to expect it! There are several links we've posted in the bootcamp group that let you follow along with his training as well as a link to the 479 page PDF of the offical trainee guide used at Great Lakes.
