Our journey

Thank you all for welcoming me. I will share a bit of our story. My son Tyler was struggling in our public high school. Failing many classes. Always did great on tests. Everything else seemed unimportant to him. We tried many ways to motivate him, all unsuccessful. We found Lincoln's Challenge Academy. A military school sponsored by the national guard. It is here ho found his calling. Earning many honors, participating in extracurriculars, and graduating 3rd in his class. Part of the program was taking the ASVAB. He ended up scoring a 93. Military service was not on our radar before the academy. Now it seemed his destiny. The Navy called and he met with the recruiter. They offered him an incredible opportunity, a humbling chance to serve, and an important leg up on life. He always wanted to be part of something bigger, to help others, and serve people in a positive way. He has that now in the United States Navy. He has graduated basic now and is currently in A-school learning his trade(CTI). I am proud of my son. I am proud to be part of the US Navy family. I don't think the general public understand the sacrifices both the service member and their families choose to undertake. No matter how far, how long, or how hard I am always behind and with my sailor and the US Navy family.

  • It is truly amazing how life sometimes brings us to where we need to be. Tyler has apparently found that path! The Navy will not allow him any slack and he will have to perform to his best ability! This is a GOOD thing! I foresee Taylor excelling in his journey. The sacrifices that we make....nobody will ever understand. The rewards...few will receive. Stay the course Chad...I wish your family the best!

  • Bravo!  The Navy is not for all, but when it is a fit for someone it allows a person to excel......
