Pacific Partnership

It's been a long time since I have been here. A lot has changed. My sailor Sarah, is now a HM3 and spent the last year stationed in San Diego. She is now deployed and is serving on the USNS Mercy (PP18).  Perhaps there is another Father that has a loved one stationed on the Mercy or with the 7th fleet?  If so, I'd love to hear from you.

  • Randy, I was very mistaken, sorry.  I mistakenly took her HM3 for a Histology Tech, not Corpsman.   My bad.  I obviously didn't serve in the Navy, just a Navy Dad. They could still know each other but Balboa is a huge place, so maybe not.   Now, this doesn't mean that we're no longer excited, we are!  We're still Mercy family.

  • Randy!  Congratulations on Sarah getting accepted onto the Mercy!  So it turns out you and I have a few of things in common. 1. My son Christian served two tours on the Mercy, 2015 and 2016. 2. His only duty station in the Navy was Balboa. 3. He is a Histo Tech too!  He and Sarah have served in the same department. It's possible that Sarah either knows him or replaced him.  He left in June after five years there.  Christian was actually the first Histo Tech on the Mercy and set up the lab.  On the 2015 tour, the Officer over the lab was a Pathologist and wanted a tech with him so he could work.  And man, did they work! Sharon and I are very excited for you guys and Sarah.  Look for a Tiger Crusie to happen on their return to San Diego.  We went in 2016 and greatly enjoyed it.  If we can EVER be of any service to you and your wife, please just let me know.
