RTC

My sailor son is at RTC I received a letter from him it was great to hear from him. In his letter he said he received his collar device with three chevrons . Was so proud of him was hoping maybe some of you more seasoned Dads could give me some history on why he would had receive it. I have already written back to him just trying to learn and there is a lot to learn. Thanks

  • hope IM asking these questions in the right place

  • Boy do I have a lot to learn thanks for the help

  • Thanks for your reply I reread his letter he received his collar device it a silver perched eagle atop three chevrons he said same as first class petty officers wear he said he was chosen to serve as division port watch he said it makes him a recruit petty officer first class RP01does that stay with him after boot camp. Thanks

  • Thinking he means three bars.....three chevrons would indicate a PO first class which is an E-6.  Thinking he must be a E-3 (Nuke program?)8410007661?profile=RESIZE_710x
