I received a call from my son Oliver last night at around 21:30 PST from his day one at RTC. He sounded a bit rushed but okay. He was trying to get as many phone calls out as allowed. I'm to expect a letter in the mail in a week or two.
Until we talk again Son!
I want to send my well wishes and prayers to all of the new recruits on base. God Bless You All...

That sounds like when Sailorette started. Which division?
Theresa those are awesome tips thank you! I know they are all homesick so we'll definitely do our part for mail call letters and pictures...
Try to write a letter daily as much as possible. My son recently graduated and he said the one thing they all looked forward to was mail call. It gives them the strength to push through the tough times ahead. Some will get lots of letters from their kids while others won't get as much. Just remember during this time they have a lot of studying to do. They have duty stations, classes, inspections, drills to learn, and pfa. Just send as much letters as possible and pictures is okay. I'd send pictures to my son in a booklet I made for him since he was homesick. I took pictures of the mountains, ocean, and family. Just always remind him that his family is supporting him and how proud we all are :)
Thanks to all the men and women, new recruits, current military service, and retired service members for all the sacrifice they make for our freedom. HOOYAH!
Edwin will do! I'll post his Ship & Div. when I receive the form letter.
