Navy Dads

Just waned to revise that apparently navy moms cannot take any new members right now. If you sign up though you can read post. So I was curious about mail on Saturdays because I had read a post that recruits only get mail Monday they Friday. I got a letter from my son yesterday and he wrote in there he received my first letter Saturday. So I don't know if it was a prayer answered cause he said it really helped him since he could reach me on his phone call home. I also wondered about the mail time. I have gotten each of his 2 letters 3 days after they are mailed. Monday to Thursday. However his first letter from me took 7 days. Is there perhaps a lot of mail incoming that takes longer to process?

My son was able to write on the 3rd Sunday. It was suggested to me from various people to begin writing and then mail them when I got the form letter. But it seemed to me after reading my sons second letter he was looking for a current letter. He left July 7 and I wrote the first one 7/10 and mailed it the 22nd just 3 days after getting his address. He said he got it Saturday 7/30. That may give you a general time table of what to expect. A lot of the stuff I noticed is like clock work. Even the pictures which are usually posted. Which there was a sick bug going around so they missed a couple of weeks. Once some weeks started going by though it began to have a bit of a routine to me. It is hard waiting but looking at others who made it to PIR and reading their post and talking to everyone when you have a question. It really has helped me. good luck and wish your diaghter the best. When you see what they are going through it makes you appreciate their willingness to serve. Best wishes through the next 8 weeks for all of your family.

Recruits write on Sundays....so you can plan on a delivery usually Wed/Thurs. I'm sure that there is a great deal of incoming mail to the base. It is the job of one of the Recruits to retrieve and deliver the mail to his/her Division. It takes a little time to train them. Write as often as you can....it is good therapy for you and a great boost to your Recruit!
