It' becoming somewhat of a long weekend. News has slowed. No new letters from Max. Didn't really expect another phone call, but you always hope. The chatter on Facebook has slowed, so others must be as in the dark as we are. On top of all that the Packers played like crap yesterday and their season is over. Wonder if Max knows. Of course maybe he is better off since he said their a lot of California guys in his division.
On a positive not, Max had informed us that he had made Master at Arms for his division and the more we talk to and chat with Novy folk, it seems to be a very big deal. I guess that means he is doing well. Wish we had more info though, but we are also finding out that a few families have not heard from their SR's at all. I guess we can count ourselves as blessed.
Got first call home. Max Neumueller 14/97 CTM
Everything is going really well. He loves it. He did not need to get his wisdom teeth out, they are fused to his jaw! He said they have really tough RDCs and the other Divs are tell theirs that they really have their shit together! They are in what he called a compressed division. He had no idea what a push division was. Basically they are doing boot in about 6 1/2 weeks. They start weapons training next week. Lastly, he said he is getting our letters 2-4 days from the post date. It was so good to hear his voice. He sounds great and is very happy!
Received a letter today. 14/97 All good news. Dated Jan 4. Did not mention anything about the comments that have been flying around facebook indicating that those divisions have had difficulty & extra PT. Said he is doing great. Says the weather has been great & no snow. Still can't get over that the others are actually cold. His nickname is Wisconsin. It has also come up that he is from Oshkosh, and others have started making " B'Gosh" comments. Only one letter, but he sounds wonderful.
I have seen other members of this site comment about their SR's having a PIR date of Feb 8. In addition to the great info here, there is also a Facebook page running with about a 140 friends and family members who have SR's with the same graduation date. Come join the conversation there as well. Search for:
