Thank you!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. My son is in DEP right now, scheduled to leave on July 17th for Great Lakes. He is 19 and will be turning 20 four days before he leaves. From there he is set to go on to Pensacola for IT training. We couldn't be more proud of him.
We are located on Long Island and he started at the Patchogue recruiting office.
I look forward to getting to know some of you and pick your brains about the whole process. I will take some time to browse the site, groups, forums, etc... to get a little more familiar with things.
Of course, any information you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Bob

  • John,

I am still new to the whole process of how things work, but I would think they would start at different times. I am sure they may pass each other, but 5 days difference seems a little long to wait. Like I said, I don't know much, so I could be wrong. We are very proud of our son as well. He tried college for 2 semesters and it just wasn't for him, so he chose this route.

Thank you son for serving our country as well!

  • Bob,

My son ships out July 22nd so unless they wait to join the group together he will be right behind your son.  We also are very proud of our son, he is 18...graduates high school in June and seems to have his life planned out (I was never like that).  Really proud to hear your son will help defend this great nation.

    John
