RDML K.J. Norton, Commander, Naval Safety Center discusses the need to avoid mishaps on or off duty, especially at work when Sailors/Marines may be thinking of other things than the job at hand. He also wants Sailors/Marines to learn from prior mishaps, so they are repeated. Mishaps can injure or kill our people, hurt families and shipmates, and affect readiness. Keep focused on risk management during the holidays, when at work, and after the holidays are over. Mishaps can strike at any time, but proper preparation can prevent them.
