The U.S. Navy's surface forces are composed of hundreds of advanced and heavily-armed ships, as well as thousands of dedicated and highly-trained Sailors who do their part to protect and defend their country. Surface Warfare is conducted by surface ships, which includes Anti-Surface Warfare, Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Naval Gun Fire Support, Riverine Operations, Mine Warfare, and Electronic Warfare. The U.S. Navy's surface forces include Guided Missile Destroyers (DDG), Guided Missile Cruisers (CG), Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), and the future DDG-1000 Destroyers.
