Navy Dads

My son has been in since July 23 at Great Lakes and we still haven't got a letter or card yet has anyone else received a letter yet. I know no news is good news but we are anxiously awaiting a letter.

Thanks

looking forward to PIR our son has been writing and we recieved one yesterday. He is transferring to A school across the street in Great Lakes.

So is ours... we are trying to figure out how to get him his laptop being that he isn't allow to bring it back until Monday....Anyone have ideas on that?

Since they are moving into there A School on Friday after graduation apparently they can get there laptop and other items to take to new base.

I was under the impression that they would not be moving in until Monday...

My son just sent a letter informing us that graduation day they would be moving there stuff to across the street it would take approx 4-5 hrs and then he would be able to go on liberty the rest of the day until around 8 pm. And then would have the rest of the weekend for liberty until 8 pm .

With the reminder that they may have to stand a watch during the weekend-- they do check in after PIR

Thank you for your input it is much appreciated, we will check with our son about any instructions he was given after PIR.

Thank you

Make sure you allow enough time for him to walk back and muster each evening- being late is a great way to loose liberty--- he will have instructions when you pick him up after checking in

Thank you for the info we will make sure we have all his instructions before liberty each day.

Thank you

Less than two weeks until PIR.  I can't wait.  I just wish that I had more time, but because of conflicting committments I won't be able to stay for the weekend.  I just hope that we have some quality time on Friday and Saturday morning, before I have to fly home. My daughter is on SHIP 04 DIV 303.  I told her about your sone also, Troy.  She says that they all train together, so she probably knows him, or at least knows who he is.
