Howie, I know how proud you must feel of your daughters accomplishments, please give her my best and thank you and her for your families service to our country. The USS George Washington was one of the ships covered in a three part TV program I watched this past week. Awesome ship and even more awesome crew. Gary T.

Each ship has its own system of watches. On the Cole they have what is known as DOG DUTY. Nick will do watch one week-end out of four which leaves three week-ends free to come home. If Kody should pass his Phase II and he is transferred to another ship the paper work should follow. Nick had to wait one week after transferring from the Franklin to the Enterprise before he got his Phase II. Gary T.

Just got a call from Kody and he is on the move list, heard his watches don't transfer to a new ship. Does anyone know? He has two more watches and his PFA to finish his phase II.

Kody is on the Eisenhower and his shipmates moved out this morning so he is up there with noone around him to chat with. He is still waiting for A school but working on phase II and taking some online classes. He said he has volunteered to coach little league to get his community service pin since they don't know when they will start A school.

Bill congrats to Brett! I guess schooling is never done. 275 days is a long time for school. I'm sure Brett will enjoy his home time. Glen thanks for the information. You will at long last be near one another and hopefully be able to see each other frequently. Nick is working out each day and like Dan is beginning to realize what will be expected of him if he is chosen. I told him be careful what you wish for, you just may get it so be prepared. Gary T.

So...Danny is still waiting for orders to be posted (Aug 10). Will answer a couple of your Qs here....Dan requested Riverines or boat detail back in May, right around the time A school started (this is filling out the "dream sheet"). Little Creek, if he indeed ends up there, is about 2.5-3 hrs east of us. That will be terrific for the time he's actually there. Gary - Danny's probably in the best physical condition of his life. He's been running and lifting - I think it's sinking in that combat training will not be a picnic. Hopefully he gets orders shortly and we get to see him.

Well guys, it's been a heluva ride. Yes, Brett got his verbals today. He will be stationed in Norfolk and will be doing C school for VLS. His ship will be the USS Donald Cook DDG 75 guided missile cruiser. His C school will be a additional 275 days(+ or -). We are all very excited and glad that he will be a little closer to home. Glen's son Dan will be very close by. He and Brett became very close at GL and they are both looking forward to "raisin a little hell" Brett figures he will be home within the next 2 weeks for about 10 days before he has to head down to check in. Should make for a nice road trip. I will check in with you guys later. Godspeed to our Sailors!

Bill, its the 10th, any news on Brett getting verbal orders? Nick coming up on two full weeks in A-school this Wednesday. Gary T.

Hey Glen, no, Brett hasn't heard anything yet. They told him he should have his verbal by the 10th. Hurry up and wait. How close is Little Creek to you? That will be nice to be able to get to him if it is a short drive. I am so jealous of Gary and now you, being so close to your boy. I wish we were as lucky. Still hoping for Norfolk. That would be about 6 hours for us but it would beat driving 9-10 hours like we do now. TTYL

Glenn, Nick has been expressing a desire for Mobile Security or the Riverines. Did Danny request that assignment prior to joining or after he enlisted. Glad to here Danny got the assignment. Nick is only in his 2nd week of A-School. He is trying to work out everyday and watch what he eats. Seems determined. Any help would be appreciated Gary T.
