Guys - Danny just wrapped up ATT this past week and expects to start A school in 4-7 days. Are any of your kids at about the same point?

Nick finished S.C.C. Thursday 04/16/09. He missed one question on the final test. Said it was lack of attention to detail. He is now on day hold for A.T.T. school. Gary T.

Forgive me Bill I forgot the most important thing of all. Congratulations to Brett and to you on the engagement. I bet you are really a proud NAVY DAD. It just goes to show you how well your parenting has done. I am very happy for you and wish Brett and your family and the new soon to be daughter in law all my best. Gary T.

Thanks Bill, I think I have found a home there as well. I move between two sites. Nick is doing well. 4 days of S.C.C. to go. Didn't know about the Heritage classes, will have to pass that on to Nick. Getting back to the other site there are quite a few moms with GM sailors over there. Will have to depend on your support so I can sound like I know what I'm talking about. Again wish Brett well, I'm counting on him to do well and pass intel back. Your friend Gary F.

Hey Gary, Brett is doing really well. He is passing all his test with some intense studying. They have a few instructors that will work with the guys if they get stuck. Brett has had to use one a couple of times. The electric circuity work is pretty complicated and sometimes overwhelming but Brett found his groove and has been flying through with remarkably good grades. He said once it clicks, it comes on you like a wave. His girlfriend went out this weekend and he "popped " THE question. Yep, he got engaged. They have been together for just over 2 years so I think it is a good match. He had to call her parents for their blessing, which they gave, and told them he was sorry to have to do it over the phone but they were impressed that he even bothered to call. But Brett is old school, he wouldn't propose to her until he got their permission. Kinda romantic, huh? How is Nick fairing? They don't really have any thing for them to study. Brett went through the same thing. Nick will have to go to Heritage classes ever Tuesday for I think 4 hours? Not sure on the length. It is the history and honor of the Navy that they have to learn in between SCC and ATT. They are classing up faster now so Nick may not have to wait as long as Brett did. He had 42 days of hold. Brett did some reading on GM at the library but said it didn't really give him any "knowledge" of the job but reading was interesting. I will update you soon on his progress. How are things on Navy Moms? Are they treating you OK? LOL Great bunch over there. I'll have to make a visit. It think I will paste this post over there so the Mom's can get all gushy over the proposal thing! TTL Bill

Bill, need an update on how Brett is doing! Nicholas has 4 more days of S.C.C. Need to know if he can study anything while waiting to class up. Gary T.

Bill, Will made the call and young Twardo had it in hand on Friday. Thanks again for the cab tip. Hope you get to spent more time with your son. Nick is already in SCC. He has finished 5 days today. One more week and he will be on hold again. Will said something about making the Enterprise a permanent ship with no more moving, we will have to see. He is a great guy.

Hey Gary, yeah, that seems to be the "thing" to do when they get phase 2. My wife and I just got back from GL tonight. We went into Chicago and to the Science Museum on Sat. Pretty impressive, if you get a chance to go you should check it out. Pretty expensive tho. Military gets in for free. We had a good 2 1/2 days with our son. Seemed to pick up his spirits pretty good. Still hard to leave him again. They had some drama on base while we were in Chicago. Something to do with a Sailor having been caught with some illegal substance. Don't know what yet. Still waiting to hear from Brett tonite. When Nick starts his SCC he should be done in like 11 or 12 days. Most likely he will move again after that. I don't why tho. All the gunners mates are housed at that end of the base but they like to move them around. Weird. Tell Nick to watch out for the Cabbies, they like the newbies. They almost seem to be waiting for them and ignore the more seasoned Sailors. They like to rack up the cab fares. Take care. TTL Bill

Bill, young Twardo got his Phase 2 yesterday 03/04/09. He completed his paper in two weeks, took the test, passed it and submitted his chit. They moved him to the Enterprise in week three and he is now a happy young sailor. He is so happy he and two of his friends are going to try out their new civilian attire and go into the city and check out the museum. Gary T.
