Are any Kansas Navy Dad's still active on this site?

Well my daughter finally reported to USS Harry S Truman during the last port call of their deployment.  She got a taste of ship life and plenty of Wizard of Oz jokes.  At least she didn't get sea sick.

Thanks, my daughter finished her A school for OS at Great Lakes 19, Dec.  Finally got her hard copy of her orders to Norfolk and assigned to USS Harry S Truman.  No date on when she is to report yet.

Unfortunate, and foolish of our legislature to allow this to happen. Shows a strong lack of leadership all around in Washington. You would have thought that the military current operations and readiness could have been maintained through this.  I hear Ks Army National Guard will take a huge hit over next two years. My step-son is full time, running an armory, and am concerned about him, and how this will play out.

The Reagan lost it's air wing due to budget cuts. Aircraft carrier without air planes. Occasional forays into the Pacific for pilot re certifications. No way to run a Navy. Frustrating for Sailors.

Everyone asleep in Kansas, or just nothing going on?
