Tiger Cruise-- on return dfrom deployment, most ships make arrangmetns for family members (usually limited to 2) to embark on the ship and cuise with their sailor to their home port. For teh Truman, since they are part of the Atlantic fleet, you would meet the carrier at Mayport, FL and cruise on the ship to homeport of Norfolk....typically 2 days. You live, sleep, and eat with the sailors on the ship. We have a Tiger Cruise group and there are a number of slide shows/videos/and blogs from the Roosevelt's Tiger Cruise last year. If you check out teh Ike's group, they are about to go on their cruise soon....and they are pretty stoked about it too!!!

What duties does a MM have is they are on a Nuclear Carrier? They have some photos of on the facebook page of MMs, but both are doing waste disposal.

Robert! That facebook link for the USS Truman gave me chills! It has sooo much great information! And great video clips and photos! They are currently deployed. I didn't know they flew them in on the C-2 Greyhounds to the ship. They have already been to France. Ok, I know that I am rambling! But I'm excited!

My son has put in for shore duty orders. NAS JAX FL.( to funny he was born in Jax, Fl,NS Key West Fl., NS Pax River Md. This won't be the firast and last time I am sure. He will keep looking until he finds a good match. Two of the MMC's made MMCS in his work center. I met both of them at re enlistment. They seem to be great guys. So it makes me feel honored to have met them. God speed the Lincoln keeping her and all her sailors close to him and safe.
