If everything is passed how long is Power School?
Bill, have him put the chit in. Mine did a few times and was granted the time.
Just to show that there is a mixed bag for assignments, my son was offered ET or EM at BC and given 2 days to decide. They even let him speak to 2 sailors in those rates to help him decide. He chose EM and is now about to start prototype in GC.
Congratulations to class 1149a! My FN becomes MM3 today! Great job Pat and friends.
Weird thing: they have a month or two of wait for power school, but can only take leave from Dec. 27 to Jan 2 according to his SLPO.
What happens if he just runs a chit for more? I understand group leave restrictions in the fleet , but hanging around a base? Not like they need to get Goose Creek underway in a pinch...
Archie, I live on Joe Pool lake just south west of Texas Stadium
Archie, I live in Northeast Tarrent County.
My son just completed his board the week of Nov 28th, his asvab was 99. I suggested ET to my son before boot. My son told me that they took all of the nukes into a room and they were heavily influenced to go MM and also sub volunteer, they had about 3 minutes to decide. My son ended up MM and a sub volunteer, however the needs of the Navy determined my son would be serving on the CVN72
Is anyone from Texas in this group?
I hope he gets what he wants, I wish I could offer him some intelligent advice but I really don't anything about what his life would be like following each path. Benjamin is essentially the first one in our family to serve (my uncle was in the army (stateside) in the 60's.)
My son's experience was the same as Douglas H.
