Feeling tired? For sure.  Power School does that to you.

Getting through power school is one serious accomplishment.

Recommend after the grad ceremony -- just take it easy when you visit, keep it cool , maybe walk on the beach and talk or not -- or visit Patriots Point, whatever seems most supportive -- Power grads need just relax after the stress,  It is a LOT of stress for them.

Take care.

R

PS -- prototype may be stressful too -- just the hours and all, but

My son is graduating Power Oct 7, probably same class. He took an apartment and is anticipating grad hold of maybe 4 months. I think he also thinks he will be staying in GC for prototype. We are across the "sound" and Ballston Spa would have been closer to us also. He is currently going "surface" but that can change.

Talked with my son yesterday, he graduates in early October. He too is getting really tired. We just keep talking about the end, eating good food, taking vitamins, try not to have too many energy drinks, ect. My son has a truck so at least he can get off base on the weekends and that seems to help. He also said that most will be going to Balston Spa. Which is fine for me because I'm in CT. Balston Spa will only be three hours away. He still doesn't know where his Prototype will be.

Alright Folks, just a little moment to acknowledge the first step.  Class 1137 MM A school just completed their comp.  Also last week they managed to got everyone through the PFA for the first time!  They all get their crows I believe. Very proud of all of them!

Our son passed his oral board and received his orders, the day before that test.  Bangor Washington and the USS Nebraska await him and the little Mrs.  They have final inspection of the home on base in GC this 30th and he reports Oct 5.   Our family just got home from Hilton Head and they were able to come back and forth for a couple of days at a time while we were all there.  It was a great week.  I suppose I'll be looking to find a Nebraska or Bangor page now.   If you have any suggestions or questions, let me know.  Peace to you all and your sailors.

JohnJ,  It is not uncommon for a Nuke not to see the fleet for at least two years.  My son has been in for over four years and just got back from his first deployment in July.  It was almost three years before he finished prototype and was assigned to The Big "E".  Then it was months in dry dock before they finally set sail!  If your daughter is anything like my son and the other sailors she will see that the less time she has to spend in the fleet the better!
