They flew my daughter to the ship. I didn't know where the ship was, of course I do not.

My daughter bought a Honda Civic, a 2006 or so, when she started A school, made monthly payments. At the time she finished prototype, the car was fully paid off. It was quite a lot of money. I don't know how she did it. I did ask her let me help somewhat pay the car but she insisted that she could handle it herself, and she did. The more I think of her, the more I love and proud of her...

H Tran,

My son was in the last class (till the facilities are upgraded) of MARF. He's endured winter weather, a minor auto wreck, a rental car that's worse than a wreck and the Saratoga Springs Street Dept that plows 4 feet of snow up against his car as he tries to leave for work at 5 in the morning.  He didn't like the humidity of Goose Creek but he dislikes the snow in New York even less. He's looking forward to a couple weeks at home and then deployment.

How do they get sailors on ship if the ship is already deployed? It's way to long to fly from SD or Hawaii.

After boot camp they went to Groose Greek, SC for A and power schools and then to Newyork for prototype.

I wasn't easy at all for my daughter though she completed both A and power schools with distinction.

Know what. She started the boot camp without knowing how to swim. At power school, when she called me to say that she had passed the last test, she was able to just barely talk then, I could hear the exhausion in her voices which from days of lacks of sleep, from cold...and whatever. But she made it! I am so proud of our sailors.

Congratulations to both of you.  Where did your sailors complete Nuke training?  My son is up at BS now working on ELT training.

Hi KS Dad,

Congratulations! My daughter, also a nuke, reported to Ronald Reagan last month for her first deployment after a two-year training. She is on the ship now. She and your son probably know each other from nuke school, I guess, based on the timing you provided.

It's been a long road for my sailors nuke training. My son finally got through with his Final Board, a 2.5 hour marathon, and passed it. He also got his first choice of assignment, the Ronald Reagan. Mom and I are relieved and pleased. It's been nothing but school for him since July of 2009 and this kid is not the academic type. Praise Be !!!

I haven't been here for a while, but thought I'd check back in.  My daughter graduated Boot Camp two years ago and is living a happy life as a CTI.  Her younger brother leaves for Boot Camp on June 20th and will be a Nuke.

I will see if I can find out more on Craig...other than his sence of humor seems to be back and he is joking with all the nurses!

As for my son, yes he is home..for good. He got a straight up Honorable Discharge, but he is not the same as he was. His depression got so bad he was in the hospital last weekend, couldnt eat or sleep...couldnt even drink water! He had an upper GI scope done Wednesday and they took some biopsies, but dont know the results yet. The ER doc, his regular doc and the gastroentroaligist all say it is due to stress...hmmmm When i went to call Tri-Care to get approval for him to go to our local hospital...I was told he had been DENIED the 90 day interim coverage! OMG...Thank god I had already put him back on my insurance! But he has a follow up appointment in the next state over at the VA hospital for some testing and with letters in hand from our local docs findings..hopfully the VA will pick it up from here.  FINGERS CROSSED!

Sandy & I will certainly be praying for Craig.  He is a tremendous asset to the Navy Dads Family and has been a big help to our family.

I would just like you all to say a prayer for Craig...he is back in the hospital after having surgery, this time with a blood clot as a complication of the surgery.
