My son will be graduating PIR in the December 11th. He is in the Nuke program. I read in the Nuke Forum "You will depart boot camp and arrive at NNPTC on the same day."
Is that accurate?
Thanks for the information Jim. Taking note of your post.
Gentlemen, thanks for the info. As much as it "hurts" to not have our MM3 return home for the Holidays my wife and I understand and realize over the course of his enlistment he can be on the other side of the world at any given time. At this point he is merely on the other side of the country from us ;-). At least he will have plenty of time saved when he hits grad hold. Since I have so many of you on the line, any recommendations on a plce to live after power school would be greatly appreciated.
Frank; my son is an EM; he had a long gap between “A” school and power school but is super excited about getting back to school. I’m a retired AOC, if we AO’s gave our students that long of a gap in Pensacola, we’d lose a big bunch. Pensacola + time off + a pay check, not a good combination. I’ve visited Goose Creek twice in the last 8 maybe 8 1/2 months. Every student I’ve met is focused and will be a great asset to the fleet.
John, I am wondering if for your MM3 it is because he will be in between Power School and proto type. I believe that is "Grad Hold" which was what my son got between A school and Power School (T-Track).
Yes a new power school group began today. Our sailors have a lot of work ahead of them over the next six months. Prayers and best wishes to all of them. Is your son an MM Mike?
My son tells me that a new power school class started today….Good luck to all and I’ll see you folks at graduation next spring.
I am getting a report that those in power school will not get any leave over holiday stand down if they don't have at least 15 days acrued. Has anyone else received similar information.
