My Son Graduates from Power School Oct. 29th. We are going down to see him for graduation. If you were there, Where did you stay? And would you stay there again?
Thanks Ernie

Scott S. See my earlier post about Clifton Park. About a 20 minute drive from Ballston. Has everything in the area you would need. My son absolutely loves it there. I know his friends also looked west of Ballston. Be careful though. There are a lot of people out there that know the sailors have a housing allowance and will try to get every penny they can out of them. They figure the government is paying so what the heck.

Hi David's Mom, my son is also graduating on 9/3 and will be reporting to NY on the 17th (he is comming home for a bit first). Have you heard anything regarding living arrangements in Ballston Spa. Anything you can share would be helpful, getting info from my son during this very busy time for them is like pulling teeth, so anything you might know about Ballston Spa would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Monty. We just returned from GC. My son graduated A school July 30. He and his wife are now in a beautiful home there on base. His power school will begin mid September. Until then he reports 5 days a week for different duties. I'll try to answer any questions you might have. Steve

My son Brandon graduated form bootcamp two weeks and is now stationed at Goose Creek. He is starting his A school there (machinest mate) and is to go into the nuke program after A school. I was looking for general info about the school and Goose Creek Navel Base and area. He is in class 1046.

My son is staying at an apartment complex in Clifton Park. He heard stories that it is too far, but he loves it. It's only a 20-30 minute commute each way. Plenty of stores around and a mall about 4 blocks from his place. I would look into that area also.

Drew's Dad, my son Jason is in the same class(1003) and is also going to Ballston Spa, I found a web site site Naval Support Unit Sartoga Springs, it has a link for incomming students and a link to some housing, wasn't real impressed with the aprtments, but I am pretty sure that there is some better housing around, Jason has a cousin that lives in Saratoga Springs and I am waiting to hear from him. I will let you know if I find anything out that looks good.

Northway Eleven Complex has apartments..all with garages. The apartments are clean with large rooms. I think they have some three bedrooms. The complex is in Ballston Lake about 20 mins. from the plant, approximately a mile from Exit 11 on I87 (Northway).

My son is graduating Power School in Goose Creek with Class 1003 on September 3rd. He is heading to Ballton Spa, NY for Reactor Training and needs to find housing. Does anyone have any tips, sources for finding housing in the Ballston Spa area? He will likely have a couple of room mates so a 3BR house/apt would be great. Thanks!

Jennifer has asked me to get on here and give a blanket thank you right away, and to tell to each and everyone you that has sent a card that it will take some time to answer each and everyone of them personally.

THANK YOU!
