For Nuke School Dads the following link to N4M's has an excellent schedule for the A School, Power School, and Prototype:

Steve:
They do have limited on base lodging for family members. Have your son look into it for you. My son said the reservations must be made by someone down there.

My son has been in GC for two days now. Any good advise for him regarding just everyday living? He knows the work will be pretty intense soon enough. He said something about having two weeks before school actually begins.
I wish they had a Navy Lodge there. That was a great place to stay for the money there in GL. Maybe someone has some hotel/motel suggestions for our first visit on a limited budget?

There are several other good youtube videos on the Navy's nuclear training including the officer side of nuke training.

My son's description of study for Nuke school (MM, EM, ET) was in his contract "Enlistment Guarantee" page 9 of 13. If you don't have that doc, About.com has a good article on ET(N) training at:

Does anyone know the ET nukes study?

Do not want to know the details just the overview.

Well our son is there at GC and he has Skype and a cell.
He says if he wants to see TV he will go down to the Common Room that has a big screen TV in it.

Thanks Mike. I'll look into Comcast. I'm not interested in the TV at all either.

They get comcast, though my son complains that the service is not the best. It costs about $60/month which if they have a roommate they can share the expense. My son also has a wireless router, they do not care to have wires running around the room. I do not know about cable TV, my son has no real interest in that and never said whether it is available, though with their very heavy study load, cable TV probably would not be a good thing.
