I know that my sailor started accounts with Navy Fed there on base after he had been down there for several months. I assume it is easy to reach and has many if not all services available not just an ATM.

Do any of the old hands here know if there is a full service branch of Navyfed on the NNPTC or one close?
Or how does one get from the campus to one?
Need a full service branch not a atm!

Our son also said that they flew on a small regional jet, not a large one. It was rather cramped. This must be fairly standard as he flew to GC back last April.

Yes, the USO is an option too. It was nice going down to the gate though because we actually got to see the plane. I know that a lot of the groups had made arrangements to make sure they got through security by a certain time. They have lots of places to eat and sit down by the gates.
BTW...the plane they took was REALLY small which was a shocker to my son. He was thinking it would be a big jet. :o)

We meet our son who left on Saturday also, but we did it a different way that morning. We meet him at the USO up on the messzine level in Terminal 2 and spent our time with him there, because it is so hard for me to go through security and there is no way that I could walk to the gate, they were dropped off in Terminal 2 and his plane left out of Terminal 1.

When you meet your son, you'll meet him by the ticket counters. There was a special counter for "unusual shaped" luggage which I think was # 80 and #81. It's down a little hall behind the other counters. We found some workers and asked them where to get the passes and thats where they sent us. Everyone that came to meet their son was able to get as many passes as they needed. They were very nice about it.

Mary, maybe I missed it. But, who do we get the gate passes from once we are at Ohare?

Steven S. Be prepared! That's what happened to our son. They were up at 2am, then off to the airport by 3 I believe. Mike asked us to be at the airport by 5, which meant we needed to leave the hotel by 4am. We ended up getting there about 4:45 and when we walked into the terminal, all the guys were sitting there with hot chocolate or coffee looking a lot more chipper than I did. It was great to spend the extra few hours with him though. Also, don't forget to ask for passes to go down to the gate. They WILL give you enough for your whole family, so don't let anyone tell you they can only get one. We had to go to a special check in counter (80/81) to get them.

David, Jayme said the nukes at GL told him they would fly out Saturday morning after the Friday PIR (2/5). Guessing we will be up early to take the cell phone to him at Ohare. :/
