Hi, my son graduates from boot camp on Friday. He will go to his A school
the following Wednesday, then to Nuke school. My question is, after A school
how long is Nuke school?

Are you thinking of the Navy Federal Credit Union? My son is home on leave now so I asked him about this. He is part of the Credit Union and said he does not get paper statements at all. He could sign up for them and have them sent to any address he wanted but chose to do everything online. If your sailor did sign up he must have signed up to have them sent home instead of there on the base. My son says to change addresses the sailor would need to do that themselves as far as he knows.

Jeff is right, phasing up gives them more freedoms. Phasing up to phase 2 comes after a month, this basically means they can wear civies off base. Then about 4 weeks later they phase up to phase three which basically means very few restrictions on dress even on base, or travel or overnight stays.

No problem - I am learning as I go - I was an Army guy - not to mention it was 37 years ago......so the terms are all different. My daughter's fiance is a Navy Pilot and my son is a Navy Nuc - now I have to cheer for the Navy in the Army Navy game!!!!!! Well --------- I guess I am OK with that---LOL

Phase 2 or Phase up I think refers to additional freedoms/privileges such as free time allowed, how far you can travel, stay overnight etc.........there are several occasions where they "phase up" and are allowed additional privileges

NavyPop, when the Navy allows the sailor to wear the insignia for the grade they are being promoted to (and not yet paid for), it is referred to as being "frocked" not flocked... : ) That is something geese and ducks get prior toheading south for the winter.

Not too bad. He bought a car and was a half hour late back. Other guys have been much much later and done worse things, but he is being punished more because he is a leader. Which is also a good lesson for him. You lead, you have higher standards to live up to. I am very proud. It is the only time he has been in trouble. Fingers crossed!
