My son just got Comcast in his room. I will pass this along to him just in case.
Sorry that might have helped, he's at Goose Creek.
Jeff, Where is your son stationed?
Hello, I just wanted to pass along a possible data breach if your sailors use Comcast in their rooms. Our son had a letter from Comcast delivered to our house and also a collection notice arrived a few days back. We weren't sure the letter was real but it mentioned a data breach etc.. The collection notice had his last name misspelled, our son went to wherever he signed up for Comcast on base, they took the information, he was advised that when he gets a chance he might want to file a police report. My son believes he might not be the only one this has happened to. I really don't know the full details I just wanted to let people know about it.
Great read Paul - thanks for sharing!
nothing demeaning about Shellback ceremonies anymore...that went out years ago
"Radio-active" Nucs, funny. From what I've heard/read of some of the equator crossing rituals, even as a young Sailor I would prefer they were less demeaning, but that's just me. Have fun, but not at the expense of someone's dignity.
LukeH is correct I teach Amateur Radio technician classes to the staff and students that are interested and available, The first classes were only available to staff to evaluate, We had 12 staff pass the license classes. They reccomended to Capt Fahs that we teach the students in "hold status" and we have had 22 pass the Technican license. Several are now members of our local Ham club. Capt Fahs and the staff agree this activity enhances the students knowledge and gives them a great extra curricular activity. MMCS Clarence Preston, one of the Hold staff leaders is my contact and can give any of the students more information. I am a volunteer who does the classes for free but we do charge the students for the materials and the test session. You can learn more about the local club at tridenthams.org I am also a retired ETC(SS) reactor division LPO and EWS
