My son is a Nuke but still on medical hold back at GL after graduating Feb. 8.  Things are going pretty well so he should get cleared soon.  Two questions.  Does anyone know when the next A school starts?  And -- Is there still a Nuke prototype training school at Charleston or is the only one in NY?

To all the new graduates I say Congratulations and you are almost there. My son finally finished everything and is on his first cruse.  So far he is enjoying it and says all the work was worth it.  I can’t wait until the fleet gets to my side of the world so I can meet up with him in Dubai.  Philip, thanks for your service and wear your hat proud.  Myself, I felt out of place with my Army hat on.

Hey, all. If you are looking for a special gift for your graduate, check out the Northwest Territorial Mint (Google it).  I have been ordering challenge coins engraved with my sailor's name, dates and events - PIR, A-school grad, and now NPS grad.  They don't have any specifically for NNPTC, but they do have rate, rank and Navy items.  And if you order today (it's spendy, but in my opinion, worth it) you can get it tomorrow in time to take to graduation.

They also have a link to give suggestions, and if we show enough interest, maybe they will make one with a Navy Nuclear Power logo in time for Prototype Graduation.

Ditto on congrats to those whose sailors passed comp.  I got the call that mine did as well, and not as close as it threatened to be.  He said the class was quite unnerved when the failing comp grades of a couple of guys who had high GPAs were announced early on - they all thought they were dead ducks.  I can't imagine having to wait until near the end of the alphabet, like mine.  Prayers and concerns go out to the ones who did not pass, and hoping they get the chance to retake.

CHS, here we come!

Congrats to all.  Mike passed his comp yesterday and now waits for proto.  He got his grad hold assignment ,  will be working for Habitiat for Humanity.  Unfortunately we cannot make it down for graduation.  Anyone who attends please applaud a little extra for us.

Yes, grats to your grads. My son passed his comp today, too. My wife will be there on Friday. I originally intended to attend but other family is coming to town and I'm staying behind.

We're so very proud today.

Congrats to all the Friday power school graduates that passed comp today. To appreciate the difficulty of the challenge I heard that this group had a 20% failure rate.  That makes your achievement today so much more special.

On my way to GC Thursday for a weekend celebration in Charleston..then 10 days leave at home with my MM3.  If the FAA and TSA doesn't mess things up.

I feel like I can breathe again...after failing A school PFA, I've been holding my breath since mid summer.  through the MMFN....through the attition division and all the drama.  Everything is fine now...he got his crow and passed power school. Now, 8 months of hold and then on to proto at BS.  Oh yea, and BONUS MONEY

I'll be wearing my US Navy Vietnam Veterans hat to the ceremony just like my profile picture.  If you see me, please stop and say HI.  God Bless...and now I'm going to the bar because I'm exhausted !

My son graduates NPS in 2 months. The posted graduation video looks great, but I'll have to visit him later on; just glad to hear he likes what he's doing.
RE: communication, he's very accessible by phone, Skype, etc..

My son's in his 4th week in Goose Creek, & like's it so far. Yes, they are more communitation friendly at this stage. We will definitely make the graduation when it comes up!
