Hello fellow Texans. Our sailor got back fron Haiti on the 5th,wow what a day with quick plane tickets ,no show taxis and flying in at midnite at DFW.He will be home for 30 days then off to Lackland to finish his MA training. He goes to San Antonio on the 16th of march and graduates on April 30th so you know where we will be.From there he goes`to Diego Garcia for a year, wow what a coincidence, that was my brothers first duty station about 30 yaers ago.I bet its changed some ,what do ya think.

Kevin, how did it go? Tina said it was great meeting new people. I went to the one in Keller a year ago. I lived in Ft. Worth for 35 years (Hurst) and it is STILL what I call MY HOME.

Any seabees dads out there? My son is supposed to be leaving for Dominican Republic tomorrow, then to Haiti. He is stationed at Little Creek, VA.

Thanks Kyle. I thought they might be sent to Haiti as well but they are relieving in the 6th fleet so I see the USS CarlVinson and the USS Bataan were sent for relief duty. Good luck to your son and hope you hear from him soon. I know I was anxious last year when the Nassau did relief duty in Galveston. He was so close but we couldn't see him and in the end, they wouldn't let him come ashore anyway.

Todd, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time it never gets easy does it. Our son is in Haiti on the USS VINSON ,while some moms have heard from their sailors we have had no word from ours. We know he is safe and that is somewhat comforting.

Sad day around our house. Matt deployed yesterday with the Nassau. It's his third time in 5 years. He should roll into shore duty sometime while he is gone but we won't know until he gets back to Norfolk. We just know they are heading to the 5th and 6th fleet with the 24 MEU. Guess they'll be chasing Pirates before long!
