Hi everyone, Jack- The new and improved address looks like the one that John Parker posted with the exception of a box#. I called the school and spoke to the Master Chief. The school doesn't have an OMbudsman anymore or at least one that is associated strictly wiht the school. The MC recommended that John come talk to him or his chief and they would call the chief of the mailroom to see what they can do. Pete

Thanks, I will have John talk to them. Pete

Sorry to hear of your problems there Pete. I'll take that as a word of caution for us as our son is headed to Groton today. Know he really wants that new phone we just bought him after PIR but will hold off shipping until he can solidly confirm his address. Even with insurance it isn't worth the headache.

Hope your packages turn up.

More on our package saga. Our son gave us an address and my wife sent him two packages. One of which had his cell phone in it. He never got the packages and then came back and gave us two new addresses. Any thoughts on who to contact in Groton to see if they can help direct John in the search for the missing packages. I think his Bess class is now in full swing so I doubt if he even has time to look for these boxes. Any thoughts? Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete,
I send packages to my son there at:
Sailors Name
New London Sub Base
bldg 484
Groton, Ct 06349-0820

I sent him his laptop, cell phone and civies to the above address using UPS. Everything arrived fine. Just let him know when to expect it and he will be able to go get it when he gets a bit of free time. Hope this helps :)

Thanks, I just tried typing navy mail addresses and I got to the web site for the submarine school. They had an address in there. My only problem is that I don't know is class number. I think I will send something with a blank number and I am guessing that it will eventually get there. Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete,

Oh no! ;^/ I just used Google to search:

"BESS address site:navydads.com"

But the result was less than gratifying. It might have to do with recent upgrade here and NING not yet having propagated the changes.

Can someone else chime in here???

Try that search again in a few hours... ya' never know...

Hello, My son just started at BESS. Is there an address for them. He didn't write at all in BC and he didn't know if he could have a cell phone. Are their restrictions on what you can send. We made the mistake of sending him newspaper clippings and I guess he wasn't suppose to get printed material. Thanks, Pete

My son has graduated Sub School. He came home for 11 days, went to mountains in New Mexico for 2 of them, we took him to airport this morning for flight back to CT. We are so proud of him! (I noticed he is more fit, he said he runs for miles each week and works in gym regularly).
Thanks to you all for your support!

Do you suppose the Brits will be one of the topics taught in future Sub schools? Nothing like parking one of your brand new ultra-stealth subs on a tidal bluff.
