Sent a care package on 2/10 and it arrived on 2/29...pretty quick! He asked for Gatorade powder and we also included some sport gum and some jerky and a few magazines.
Putting another CARE package together.
Specific requests are :
Tea -- the NAVY coffee gets real old after a few months at sea
Chewing gum -- asked her what flavor(s)
Kool-ade -- apparently the NAVY bug-juice gets old like the coffee after a few months at sea -- wants strawberry-lemon
Any ideas for a surprise bonus item to put in a CARE package?
And about the tea - or coffee -- I've had to put down rumors that the Nukes take their hot water for coffee or tea right off a tap on the reactor. They don't :)
Live long and prosper.
Ric
You have to be thankful that your son has someone that is that close to him. My son does the same thing you have to think about if they didnt pull away a little bit they would never leave home. Yes Robert you did raise a smart son.
That's like the old Bill Cosby routine. His son is into football. Takes his kid to practice, shows him how to play. Works with him all those years. Mentors, tutors. Now he's hit the big time, college, pro's, camera get's on him..."Hi Mom."
Robert, that sounds so familiar.
Sent my son some ship to shore calling cards, who does he call? His girlfriend of course. Raised a smart kid, he knows if he at least emails his dad he is off the hook.
We receivved our first call from our Sailor on the Lincoln this past Sunday. This is the first word we have had from him since they left their previous port stop. He sounds really good. He will be finially testing for his rate soon. Hope he does well. He has had a tough road, but sounds very positive.
Recived an email from my son this morning was the first email I read today really made my day. Big time differance from here to there. Lots of work going on, they are all doing a great job.
Thanks Robert!
Welcome aboard the Abe Dan Blodgett!
