Just got some good news! The CARE package we sent 3 weeks ago arrived on board. Daughter emailed a thank you note. Sent a couple pounds of beef jerky, some kool-ade and some tea. She gets tired of the Navy coffee really quick -- "enough powdered cream and sugar -- nearly drinkable"
She's sharing the goodies with her shipmates and for me -- just the little bit of connection makes a lot of difference.
Take care -- and bless all our kids out there they are working real hard.

you will get used to it Ric...I did my time waiting for contact for both of my sailors while they were in the area....just checked with the iPhone, Dubai is 06:02 hours right now....
I know there's not much point in asking -- I think that they are GMT + 3 or 4 or 4.5 -- but I try to imagine what time they are working to. And with the really strange shifts they work it's even harder to guess -- when is daylight over there --
Sorry me sweating it but so hard to keep in touch.

Welcome Vicki and happy birthday to James. Lot's of good folks here. Should be able to help with questions. They have been helpful to me and I'm sure will be to you.
My son James is on the Lincoln want to wish him a Happy 25 Birthday!!
miss him
Lincoln is in the gulf I think.
But the officially posted pix are with Stennis CVN 74 not Vinson
My kid says -- a few months driving in circles, cooler than last time, (earlier in the season) Bahrain is less accessible than last time, we just drive around and launch whatever.
Where they are, what they do.
Love all their gutz.

Knew it would be the Lincoln to transit the strait. Understanding economics, the Vinson already completed its complex overhaul in 2005.
I finally had a good nights sleep after this news broke but there is only one way out.
Bravo Zulo to the French and U.K. for putting their butts in the mix.
Bravo Zulu, Lincoln !
