With my sailor's second deployment coming soon, his request list has changed. This year instead of jerky he wants Hickory Farms summer sausage and cheese and with every care package a roll of TP 220 grit or finer.

Tim, also if you want to watch the Christmas video from last cruise go to you tube and type in "VFA 34 Blue Blasters - a Blaster Christmas"

Tim. my son is VFA-34 Blue Blasters, last cruise the Blasters had alot of problems with mail but that was internal & has been resolved. I always mail pkg's 'Priority Mail" because it moves to FPO within 3-4 days then it should normally take 2-3 wks. Even though you might miss the holidays, they will appreciate it. Plus, they will have been away from home/port for awhile so it will be special to them .

If we send a holiday package now -- she gets it before they deploy.

If we send it after they deploy -- she gets it sometime in Jan or Feb.

We agreed that we'll send it after they deploy and whenever it arrives, it will be welcome.

It's still two weeks to the squadron deploys to the ship but I put a bug in his ear.  A late package is still better than no package.
