Hello fella's Got a few e-mails from Matt. Sounds like things are going well. Have a question. I'm sure you dads with multiple deploys would know. Matt is planning on taking some courses while he's out. Try to get some college credits. Are those courses "freebies" or do they impact the educational benefit package?? The government is very good with those programs so I anticipate while out, those are pretty much gratis and the funds are saved for higher education after they return. Not that it matters, any help financially for tuition is good help. Just curious.

Glad to hear from you Kirk. They all seemed to sound pretty excited about shoving off. May wear thin after awhile, but as long as they embrace it as an adventure they will do ok. Great group of young men and women. Keep in touch. It will be interesting the comments each of our children make about the cruise.

Hi Dave, my daughter Holly is an ABM(E) on the Lincoln and this is also her first deployment. She's really excited to be going and I'm excited for her as well but man it's going to be a long time before I see her again. Thank Heavens for email. If I wasn't on my way to work soon that beer and cigar would sounding pretty darn good right now.

Just got on the site today. Sort of ran into the Navy Mom's site and started poking around looking for a little equal opportunity for the dad's.Kind of bittersweet last night. Proud to see them go, but tough as this is Matt's first deploy. Made the mistake of seeing what the Navy Mom's were writing about the ship leaving. It'll rip your heart out. Sounds like they handle it with Ice Cream. Beer and cigar time for me. Well fellas we're in this together now with our sons and daughters.Hope to have some good chats throughout.
