At MEPS in San Diego. He hasn't shared yet when he leaves for basic, his job will be Missile Technician. I work in the South Bay, live in the Inland Empire.

Happy Friday - Hubby and I recently returned from visiting our sailor in Ballston Spa, NY.  Had a great time seeing him and meeting many other sailors - made sure to give and get extra hugs from all of them!  Did a trip to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame - represented the Angels!

Here's another of hubby, sailor and I at the park:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hope you all had a great Easter weekend! Our family got together and threw a nice BBQ. I received a call from my son and we all took turns talking to him, that was a nice bonus.
I found out that he heads to Virginia this Saturday for his A school at an Army base. Fort Lee I believe, I was unaware that they do that? He sounds really mature and confident. What a huge difference from before Boot Camp. I'm amazed at what the Navy has accomplished with him in such a short time.

KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (Apr. 9, 2014) A CH-47 Chinook attached to the Army's 25th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, approaches the flight deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) for a landing during deck landing qualifications. Anchorage is currently performing training with the 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division and the 25th CAB off the coast of Kaneohe Bay.

Thanks for all the support and comments! My son was with Division 129 so I need to get on Facebook and see if I can spot him. I'm ordering the DVD for sure Stephen! I was just thinking about it and you're right so thank you!

Hey Gary, so we hit Five guys Friday, Pequods on Saturday for a screaming deep dish pizza. Mauri's diner for breakfast today where I ate what they call " The Garbage Can " a huge scramble of just about everything in the kitchen. I failed and couldn't finish half of it. Then dinner at Portillo's for that Italian beef sandwich. BTW, don't tell my doctor haha.

What a great weekend though! We just dropped our son off so now we're both sad as we drove away :( never thought that letting go would be so difficult. He seems good. He's got his shipmates and looks like he's ready to move forward.
We're both so proud of him and look forward to hearing from him soon.

Thanks again guys!
I did pick up the souvenir RTC Sailor hat and a few other souvenir's from the RTC and the Naval museum as well. And yes we're doing the happy dance right now :)
First on his hit list was five guys for his favorite burger. I'm more of an in-n-out man between those two chains but anything for my son this weekend.
I like that pic Gary!
