NOISE ALERT: Navy Small Boat and Blank Weapons Fire...

Naval Base Coronado, Calif. - The Navy is conducting training exercises involving small arms blanks, smoke and flash bang grenades, and small boats operating off the ocean beaches of Silver Strand Training Complex South, north of Imperial Beach on January 16 and 17, 2014, between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

This training will be conducted in a manner to avoid contact with the public for safety and security.  The Navy recognizes the importance of being good neighbors with the local communities and makes every effort to abate noise when possible.

All noise abatement complaints can be directed to 619-545-8233.  All other questions can be directed to Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office at 619-545-8136.  --USN--

Dennis Michael Stones BZ to your Grandson Jacob that's just right around the corner! There was one thing I grilled into my son's mind when he was in DEP as he had several months to work on this. The timed run! I wanted to make sure he had this covered prior to BC. Keep us posted...

Jason, I know how you feel. It was hard to see our youngest go. I wrote lots of short letters to him and I found Navy moms. Found some moms on here so I checked them out. I joined them and got lots of updates from them. FaceTime after he was out of boot camp. Now he's been in for over 4 years and I really think we are a lot closer now than before he went into the Navy. It's still hard when he is deployed as we only get to sent real short emails only. Hang in there and thank your son for deciding to defend his country. God bless
