At MEPS in San Diego. He hasn't shared yet when he leaves for basic, his job will be Missile Technician. I work in the South Bay, live in the Inland Empire.

My sailor left Orange County for his 1st duty station aboard the USS George H.W. Bush in Norfolk, VA this morning. It's pretty far from California and I'm gonna miss him a lot until I get to see him again.

NOISE ALERT: Navy Small Boat and Blank Weapons Fire
August 2, 2013 at 10:22am
Naval Base Coronado, Calif.- The Navy is conducting training excercises involving blank gunfire and small boats operating in San Diego Bay and off the ocean beaches south of Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.
Expect to hear the small arms and .50-cal blank gunfire during the following training excercise dates and times:
Aug 2 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. San Diego Bay
Aug 5 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. Ocean Beaches
Aug 12 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. San Diego Bay
Aug 13 12 a.m.- 4 p.m. San Diego Bay
Aug 14 4 p.m.- 9 p.m. San Diego Bay
Aug 14 5 p.m.- 10 p.m. Ocean Beaches
Aug 15 4 p.m.- 9 p.m. San Diego Bay
The Navy recognizes the importance of being good neighbors with the local communities and makes every effort to abate noise when posssible.
All noise abatement complaints can be directed to 619-545-8233. All other questions can be directed to Naval Base Coronado Public Affairs Office at 619-545-8136.
