  • Hi kelly..
  • Sorry I missed happy hour. I'll try to make it one of these nights.
  • Thanks for the welcome Kelly.
  • Kelly,
Yes It will all work out I am just glad that Trevor decided to take a step to take care of his family. I wasn't to happy about his decision at first but when he came to me and told me, like the man that he has become in the last 9 months, "Dad I am taking the best way that I know to take care of my Family and get my college paid for without putting any extra burden on you". I knew then that he and his family were going to be ok, and that the young man that I had raised was wiser than her should be at his young age.
Trevor was in the same boat as Lee on the delay of going into the Nuke program. His scores were where he could do whatever he wanted also. his choice to go into ET also hinged on the fact that when he got out of boot camp his baby would be 5 months old as opposed to being in boot camp when his baby turned a year old ond not being able to be there.
  • Kelly,
Glad to hear that Lee is doing good. My son Trevor was being courted by his recruiter to go into Nukes but he decided to go into Electronics Technician and work on Satellite communications. He wanted to go into Nukes but ultimately turned him to ET was that the closest Nuclear power plant to us is 200 miles away in Arkansas. He and his wife want to be around home to be close to both families. So I can't blame him for going to ET's for that reason. I can't wait till they get home or closer to home so that we can see our Grand-baby, but I know that it will all work out in the end for them.
Congratulations on Lee's upcoming graduation and good luck to him in the future.
  • Kelly, Welcome Aboard! and thanks for joining us dads. I'm so glad to have the moms on here to keep us men in line. We will help in any way we can. So please jump right in share concerns, join groups, and show off your sailor. I hope this site will benefit you during your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Lee for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
    Sincerely, EG
  • Welcome to NavyDads Kelly! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Kelly this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Lee is doing! Best Regards- Paul
