  • Ms. Florence Byers McSween, age 65, of Dallas passed away on March 29, 2016 from a tragic automobile accident.

Florence is preceded in death by her youngest son EOD1 Joseph Adam McSween.

Florence was born on January 1, 1951 in Sheffield, Alabama to, Mrs. June Stringer and the late Mr. Herman Alvin Byers. Florence was a retired teacher having worked for both the Valdosta, GA and Paulding County Georgia School System. She was an active member of the Burnt Hickory Church of Christ. In addition to her involvement at church, Florence enjoyed being active in several military support organizations, most notably the American Gold Star Mothers. She was presently serving a second term as West Georgia president, and previously served as Dept. President for the State of Georgia. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and quilting.

  • Thank you, Florance for accepting me as a new NavyDad friend.  I'm not sure if you saw my comments on FaceBook "NavyDads" ?  You asked if I could make a picture for you ... and I did.  It's posted on FaceBook now. Have a great and Blessed day :)

  • I just wanted to stop by and say Happy New Year and Happy Birthday. I heard you were another year younger and that is some special.
  • Thanks for writing. I'm doing fine. A busy summer so far. Went to see my daughter and family. Had a great time with the grandkids. Went to visit the parents. Celebrated my dad's 79th bday and saw him march in a small parade with his fellow VFW. Saw my MIL who had broke her hip earlier this summer. Now waiting for Craig to go off on deployment. His first. Love your pics. God bless. Take care.
