  • Hi Maria: Glad to hear that you got to talk to Stephen. We had a yahoo also. Tyler called us yesterday also. Stephen must have done something good. Tyler did good on his Academics Test and got to call us. His mother took the call at her work and was very happy. Tyler learned to keep his mouth shut the first day. He says he knows to stay under the radar for their RDC. He also passed his swiming and PT, so he is doing good. He also is tired and a little sore from all of the PT. He says that they have lost 3 of the 88 in their Division. Bad attitude and failing PT. There are some who have not passed swiming yet. He already is counting weeks, said they have 5 to go. He said he hopes it warms up so that they can go outside. GO NAVY ! GO STEPHEN ! GO TYLELR ! From the Army (Bill)
  • Hi Maria: Glad to hear that you received mail. Maybe they just have mail call on Sundays. Tyler said the same thing about us sending him mail. I thought that they would get mail from us everyday, but maybe not. Glad you memtion the stamps. we should send some also. I guess someone was right about numbering our letters so that they can read them in order. We have not done that so Tyler probably does not get them in the right order. Tell Stephen that they may yell, but they can't beat you. (I hope) Bill
  • Hello Maria: I guess I spoke too soon. Received Mail from Tyler today. Others in family also received mail. They can only mail Sundays. So it looks like it takes about 5 days for us to receive mail (Nixa, Mo.) Of course his return address is different from the address we were using. (One in the form letter from CO.) He said first week was not too good, but now it is ok. Many nice guys in Div. 174 and like fraternity. Everyone helps each other. Everyone is looking forward to May 1st. PIR !! I bet you have heard from Stephen by now or it won't be long. Bill
  • Hi Maria: Just a note. I've heard that the recruits can write only on Sundays. Not sure if that is true. We have not heard anything from Tyler. They must be keeping everyone pretty busy. Have you heard from Stephen? There is a site on boot camp that tells what they are doing week to week. They have been there two weeks. should be in the routine and things going smooth. Bill
  • Hello Maria I just received letter yesterday also. Address is a little different from what I received from the recruiter. I think the on from Training Command should be the better one. Tyler is going on to Corry Station (Pensacola,Fla.) for CTT school. Does Stephen know where he is going after basic ? What is his rating ? See you at PIR in May Bill
  • Hello Maria: Yes your recuriter should know Stephen's address. I called yesterday (my Tyler's recuriter) and got Tyler'a address. It was the one I had before. He is Ship 13,Div174. His Ship 13 is the USS Marvin Shields (DE 1066). It is named after the only Navy Seabee to receive the Metal of Honor in WW11. You will know everything as soon as you contact you recuiter. Good Luck to Stephen. Bill
  • Hello Maria: My son Tyler arrived at GL on march 4th. I had quick call from him (30 seconds) He said ship 13, Division 174. I see that Tom Struckman's son is ship 13, div 175. I think I will call recuriter mon. to verify the address. We may have both of our sons in same group. The division that graduates on april 24th is div. 173. I'm guessing that Div. 174 and 175 should be next. May 1st. GO Navy Bill (US Army Vet.)
  • hi maria we just got dustins address ship 13 div. 175 and also his box arrived, have you heard anything yet ?
  • Maria, "Welcome Aboard!" and thanks for joining us dads. I'm so glad to have the moms on here to keep us men in line. We will help in any way we can.
