Proud parent of a brave sailor. Unfortunately my son will be medically retired by July 2010. He experienced one seizure while serving aboard an air craft carrier. Neurologist says anti-seizure medication is not consistent with military service. So, he has to give up his dream job that was the reason for keeping his nose clean all through his teen years. But, he is looking forward to the future and all of the options open to him. I am a small business owner, www.dailyfooddiary.net where I sell my line of health diaries. And, I am looking forward to a recovered economy! Hope springs eternal. God bless our military and I thank them all for their service and to all family and friends of our military my eternal gratitude for your support of our military men and women.

What Were Your Feelings When Your Sailor Joined The Navy:
On 9-11 he made his decision at age 12...he reached his goal! A goal he set nine years prior to boot camp and kept his nose clean all those years. As a mom, it doesn't get much better than that! UPDATE: He had a seizure aboard ship and he is being tested by neurology, but, will probably get a medical discharge. Thank the Lord we are in the same city. It is extremely life altering and heartbreaking. DS is handling it way better (and with more bravery) than me. God bless him...

My son is an ABE aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego, Ca. and my family and I couldn't be prouder of him. When he first enlisted I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. We have many moms on the site and benefit greatly from their point of views and we are willing to help the moms in any way we can. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your sons journey in the Navy. Thank Jace for his service for me and thanks again for joining us.
Sincerely, EG
