  • Hi back, we too had a bitter sweet reunion, love spending the time we had. Mike stayed at Camp Pendleton, but moved over to a new location, Camp Margarita. We had a great 4 days, went on the USS Midway wow that was a big ship! Do you know anything about an AEV ship? that is Mike new job as of today. called us this afternoon with the news. Tamie
  • I wish we could figure out how to meet up with each other we are flying into San Diego Thurs. late afternoon. 4:30 Mike will pick us up and we are staying at the cabin on the beach on the base. I think that is right. well it be you and your wife??
Mike will stay at camp pendleton so we will have a weekend to spend with him. We will return to Oregon on Monday.
  • I see that you are going to Camp Pendleton soon, My husband and I are going to our sons graduation March 13th. when are u going to be there?
  • We met your son at his A school graduation.
    Very nice young man!
  • Jim,
My son, Daniel, is reporting to the 2/1 at Pendleton on Jan 6. I assume that your son is on his way to C School (FMTB, formerly FMSS) there soon which my son did at LeJeune a year ago June. If he wants to swap info with Daniel he can reach him at:

    if not, that's cool.
    best,
    Dan
  • Man, that was cutting it close.. but I am so glad he was able to finish on time.. thats great.. I fear we may be in the same place when that time comes in a few weeks.. hweres hoping mine can finish on time / on schedule.
    Jim.
  • Hello J~!
My son Dusty PIR'd jun 13. It was really touch and go at the end. Two days before PIR he called (almost in tears) and told us he missed his final run by 7 seconds, but they where going to give him one more chance the 12th...day before his schedule grad. That afternoon he called me at 5pm and gave me the good news..he had passed the run by 3 seconds..**WHEW**. He had to get his 'battlestations' completed the night before PIR. Finished battlestations at 3am, then PIR at 10:30am that morning. He finished up in true sailor tradition. (no sleep and tired).
We got his pictures approx one week after PIR.
    Keep in touch.../tim
  • J. thanks for joining. I found navyformoms in searching for answers to my son's future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads like n4m's but I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads wouldn't feel guilty interacting in a woman's world. I'm new at this and I hope this site will benefit fathers that come behind us. My son and his navy brothers and sisters will also use this site to interact with each other. He started his graduating group on here so that they could find each other once they get settled in A school. So please tell your son also. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud navy dads just like myself. Good luck and thanks again for joining. E.G.
