Louisiana--LSU grad and fan! Love my sailor and his brother who served 4 years '93-'97 aboard the USS Essex (stationed in San Diego). I have 2 beautiful grandchildren. My youngest son is now in the Navy aboard the USS Harry S. Truman--so proud--so proud of my boys! My dad (their grandfather) was a Navy radioman aboard the Calvert--served in WWII.

  • Celeste, thanks for the friend request. I see you are from Louisiana. So am I. My daughter Natalie is in Corpsman school in GL now and doing great. I also have a son in the Marines and he is stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC. Look forward to sharing our experiences of this military rollercoaster ride with each other. Have a wonderful day.
  • Celeste thank you for the friend request :). I noticed your son is in Norfolk, my son is in VA Beach (NAS Oceana). I have a small group, hoping it will grow a bit faster hehehe, called NAS Oceana & NS Norfolk you might want to check out. When did your son graduate bootcamp? My son, Wes, graduated a year ago (June 20, '08) and has been on hold since Halloween to start his C School - started June 15th, '09 finally :). What does the OS rate do? Keep in touch and God Bless, Michele
  • Good moring. Thank you for your friendship. I look forward in sharing navy stories with you. Have a great day.
  • Welcome to NavyDads Celeste! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is on the second half of a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat recently returned from a seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Celest this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Ernesto is doing! Best Regards- Paul
