Sadly, I don't he didn't tell me much more than that he was going into electric engineering. When I know more I'll ask on here again. What's the min and max time for EM 'A' School?
Do you know his exact rating or program, for example is he AECF? Electronics Technician or Electrician's Mate? The schools are very different in length. ET is over six months, EM can be nearly as long. He cannot live offbase without permission, although he can have weekend overnights once he earns phase three liberty.
My husband will be going to GL for A school to become an electric engineer. How many months will he be there for? I'm considering staying out there with him for a few weeks if it's going to be more than 2-3 months. Any thoughts?
Most schools begin once they have enough warm bodies to fill the class. Every few weeks? I know it can vary for all sorts of reasons.
I don't think we can write about specific dates so please don't mention them; I think its OK to write about generalities.
My question has to do with start date for the next CT-N class at Corry Station. Does anyone know approximately how often they start - once a month, once a quarter, once a week? Or is there no way to know - do they just wait however long it takes to have enough people to start one? Thanks.
Thank you, Steve. This is why NavyDads is such a great resource: I had a question and needed advice and an hour later I have the information I need.
He will probably leave for Corry Station the morning after graduation (very early in the morning). He will have his sea bag packed with his belongings as well as a uniform garment bag--a full load. He will have everything he needs to start with except his cellphone. You may or may not be permitted to give it to him the afternoon of graduation depending on his chief. He can definitely receive mail and shipments from home packed in boxes. We sent our son several boxed items including a computer laptop.
My son will be reporting to Corry Station for his A School and I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer -
1) For boot camp they told him to bring nothing of his own. Will he need to bring anything to A School (towels, toothpaste, etc.) or will he be issued everything he needs?
2) Can he receive shipments from home packed in boxes?
Thanks for the help.
