  • The Navy sure has a way of changing people.  My wife and I are often heard saying, "Who are you and what have you done with our daughter?" after she says something so unexpected just a short couple of years ago before she went off to boot camp.

The journey begins

My daughters PIR was on 16 Dec., we attended and it was considerably different than I remember of my own PIR (08/75). The base was entirely different as well, with new barracks, drill halls, chapel, etc... Her PIR was small with only 416 graduates. Her group also had a week less boot camp than normal, I guess so they didn't graduate on either the Christmas or New Year weekends. Her liberty after PIR was short, we had to have her back at base at 1900 as all the sailors that were goin to Class A…

Norfolk " Real Estate

Hello Everyone: My Navy daughter anticipates moving to Norfolk in May of 2013. I was wondering if anybody knows any "Navy appropriate" areas of Norfolk that might be nice to purchase a small Condo in? Thanks for your help. Craig "Rocketman"

The Journey Begins

My daughter began her journey in the Us Navy on 5/26/2009 when she shipped out to Great Lakes for boot camp. My wife and I now begin our journey as the proud parents of a Sailor, I'm sure along the way there will be joy, sorrow and many nights of worrying. My mother always told me may your children be no better or worse than you were, well now I get to find out (in a way) what she went through when I was in the Army.
