Correction, Michael Roberts family lives in Watauga, TX.

Please pray for the family of Army Specialist Michael Roberts of Watatuga, TX, who was killed over the weekend in Afganistan by an IED. Michael was one of a group of boys who stayed together from Cub Scouts though Boy Scouts with me and my son. He will be missed. Michael was 23 years old.

You're welcome April, glad to help anyone.  I'll say a pray for your boy, I've beeen praying for all those involved with the storm.  I'm sure he is busy but hope he contacts you soon.

Haven't heard from my Sailor; he was still in Md but set to report to the Big E today.  He is in God's hands and I take comfort thinking he has been busy helping his base and the community he is in prepare for the storm.  So I am waiting, please pray for Eric.

 

And blondie, thank you for the mother's poem you posted.  I took it to FB where I am on a Navy page of mom's whose Sailor's had same PIR.  Also, friends who are wives of military men appreciated my posting it too.

Dear Lord,

Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between a mother's love and duty to country.

Give me understanding that I may know, when duty calls them they must go.

Give me a task to do each day, to fill my thoughts when they're away.

And Lord, when they're in a foreign land, keep them safe in your loving hand.

And Lord, when duty is in the field, please protect them and be their shield.

And Lord, when deployment is so long, please give me the support to remain strong.

Say a special prayer for those in the path of the coming hurricane. Pray that God will watch over and protect them.
