I have thought a lot about the Fort Hood shootings. I think that using your religion as an excuse to kill people is cowardly. Yes I am not a muslin. I am an everyday Christian. I feel Jim is correct. We have to trust and keep our faith in GOD. No matter what your religion there is a supreme being that cares for us. People have free will and do awful things that God DOES not control.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please aid all of us who feel weak in this time of disbelief. We are having a hard time understanding why the shootings happened at Fort Hood. There may be no way for us to understand. Please support us and all those involved. Help us to be gracious and forgive as only you can do. Wrap our arms around us and hold us in the palm of your hand. Feeling loved and protected at this time is so important. Help us to remember you are watching over our sailors. You are supporting them with your love and care as we are at great distance from them. Grant all the soilders and their families peace and guidance as they face this awful time of confusion. Help us to better understand why someone would harm their fellow soliders or sailors. Grant all the men and women serving peace in their hearts as they face their jobs daily. Amen.

I wanted to join in this prayer room to seek comfort and understanding of what happened at Ft Hood yesterday and I thank yall for making that possible for me. I was on the phone with a friend yesterday when her son in law called her--he was working at Ft Hood as a civilian and was hiding under his truck but wanted to let her know he was ok--she could hear the gunshots. My nephew is in the Army and his buddy he went to Iraq with was shot yesterday and is not expected to make it. I am very much questioning God right now--but I have to believe he has his reasons for everything and that he is the reason my friends son in law is ok--but I am really struggling. Thanks for all of your prayers here it brought me a lot of comfort!!! I love yall Sharon

Heavenly Father, thank you for another day. Please be place your angels wings around my family in traveling and going about their daily business. Thank you for the sunshine. Lord I pray for the families of the deceased and wounded in Texas, and pray for strength for the families and friends. Please help those wounded have a quick recovery and very less scar mentally and physically of this crime. Lord please save the man who did this, he was troubled and we wish he had of asked for help before acting out. Lord please give our sailors and soldiers a place and person/people to go to when they are troubled, confused and need to talk it out. Please give the families some form of comfort during this time. Please give all who this has touched some comfort and understanding this was a soldier that was ill and needed help that was not seeked. No excuse to take lives. I pray nothing like this happens again.

Lord please protect my sailor. He is going through somethings. Please give him the peace of mind, the tools, nourishment, warm clothing on his body, and transportation he needs to continue to do his job as well. Please help him adjust to his new environment and be okay still with this choice he has made to serve our country. Please keep him and all our military forever safe and bring them all back home to their families and friends. Thanks for hearing all our prayers. Lord you have brought us through so much. Thanks for giving us further strength. Amen.

The event at Ft Hood is one of those tragic events that we cannot understand. We even question God as to why, but during these times we must look to Him for comfort and peace. I pray for all fellow military parents for courage and strength during this time and for encouragement for our soldiers and sailors. May God bless us all and may God bless America.
