Joni and Dave, There are no words. I was praying for Nick to come out of this, and , seven weeks he gave it his all. He is truly a hero!! God has a greater plan for Nick. Stay strong and know God is taking care of your son, and he too, will help you through this. My love and prayers go out to you.

Dave & Joni - I have been praying for Nick's healing and for your family for weeks. I prayed and asked God for a miracle for your family. My heart is so sad and I can't stop crying. We don't always understand God's plan, but I will pray that He will wrap His arms around your family. God bless you all and I look forward to meeting your precious son someday when we all get to heaven.

As I sit here in tears, I keep thinking it shouldn't be this way, we're not suppose to outlive our children. Then these words came into my mind. God knew how many hairs Nick had on his head. God knew Nick before he was born. God was with Nick when his parents had to make the most heartbreaking decision they may ever have to make, letting their son go. God knows all, and He knows the reason for this tragedy even though we don't.

Dave and Joni ~ I know the days will go by in a haze and the world will seem like it's moving way to fast and people are way to happy. Through it all, God will be with you, watching you, holding your hands, or picking you up and carrying you because you just can't go on. May you sense His presence, His love, His comfort, and His peace during this very, very, difficult and painful time.

Dear Dave & Joni,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Nick. As a parent, I know in my heart that I would have made the same decisions as you did. We know that Nick will be dearly loved and cared for in our Father's kingdom. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers as you begin your healing process. We will never forget Nick. He and you will always be a part of our Navy Family. God Bless!
