Jose,
Please keep us updated on your son's progress. Congratulations for what your son has committed to do. You should be so proud of him. Expect a wierd call from him around 11:00 pm or so. Remember that he is limited in what he can say, and he will sound tired and scared. It's not horrible! When you get letters from him, they will be like priceless gifts. Then, in 8 weeks, you will walk a little taller around Great Lakes with your boy. Enjoy this time...we are praying for you and your family!
please remember that many join the military to be able to go to college on the GI bill....not everyone has $60K they can spend on school.....
Amen.
Father, give them strength, wisdom, courage.....all that they need. Let them feel the Pride and Love their families (and all of us) have for them. May they always strive to do Your will. Amen
Thank you Father for your watchful eye and steady hand. We know you are with us always. We ask for special care for James' son and ask that you quide his feet onto your path, as we do our part and lift him up in Prayer. Also comfort and rest your Peace on Japmes and his wife and their family. Life is never easy but with You all things can be done. Thank You for Your continued Love. tghrough Christ Your Son, Amen
will add your son to my prayer list.
Fishdad, I do not know why life is so hard for Heath right now, but will continue to pray for him also. God has a plan, we just don't always see or take the correct path. Maybe God is using Heath to reach someone else. (?)
James,
I am praising God along with you for the changes you have seen in your son. So many men and women blossom when they are faced with the discipline and structure of the military.
Concerning the use of names, we usually share first names on here and if the need arises, you can always Private Message someone if need be.
Thank you very much for what you do. Haiti is a place that is dear to our hearts. I was scheduled to go and work at an orphanage this past summer but had an accident on a previous missions trip and was therefore unable to go. The country of Haiti needs to hear the gospel and they need caring, compassionate people to help meet the practical needs that their own government doesn't. But, you well know all of that. I will be in prayer for your ministry as well.
Please keep us updated on how your son is doing.
God bless,
Robin
My son just graduated from Basic, now starting preBUD/s. (I'm new to this site and have read that maybe I shouldn't use his name?) We have 3 biological children, then adopted 3 more from Haiti. This one is the 2nd of the three adopted ones, and the only one who's had serious attachment issues. Also the only one of our six who has caused serious problems and rebellion. After 3 months in a Teen Challenge center, he lived at home for last year working hard to get a SO contract, the dream of his life. We were glad to see him go, but everything turned around at graduation. He seems like a new person with new character, and it was so good to be with him that my wife and I have been really emotional since getting back home. I'm texting him and he's writing back. I'm a pastor/missionary to Haiti (living in US), and we have prayed for our son so long. Please join us in praying that our son will get God's best and keep growing in manly and godly character.
This is an update from Nick's dad, Steve, posted yesterday:
Nick had another week of progress. Another week of healing. No prothetic legs yet because a new wound has developed on his backside. (Dang it!) It is being treated and appears to be getting better. Dear St. Rita, lift our prayers of healing to Jesus. All else is going well. Still only limited time allowed in the wheelchair so there is a lot of chillin on the bed and couch when not in therapy. Please join us in prayer for another 2010 USMA classmate of Nick's that was seriously wounded in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber earlier this week. (Steve)
I agree with April, well said.
