Such evil lurks out in the world. My heart is breaking for Matt and his family. But I know our Lord hears our cries and prayers for this young man. Will pray every day and await updates.
Thank you all for your prayers. They had to put 5 plates in his face. They don't know if he's lost his vision in his right eye and when he was attacked they broke his jawbone so viciously that it went through his eardrum and broke his so he is deaf in his left ear. They won't know for 2 - 6 weeks whether he will need an upper jaw transplant. Please pray against infection and that they will be able to catch the guys who did this. There were 7 of them. Matt stands 5'2" and weighs 125 pounds. They attacked him with landscaping bricks from the front of his dorm room. It was just heartbreaking today to see him in that condition.
"I will cry without shedding a tear,
cringe without showing my fears,
pray without moving my lips,
dream always of incoming ships.....
for I am the mother of a
U. S. Sailor" ♥
I Will pray for Matt along with my prayers for all our sons and daughters....The Lord be with you and your family and may His face shine upon you all the days of your life...be strong and be always faithful to God....he will take you in His arms on the last day.....
I pray that God be with Matt and your family today. All things are possible with our Lord. God bless you now and always.
I will light my candle and Pray for Matt.
Hello everyone. We could use the prayer warriors out there today. I received a call early this morning that my cousins son was attacked and savagely beaten. He is going into surgery now to have at least 3 plates put into his skull and he may need a transplant of his upper jaw. It doesn't look good. His name is Matt. Please be praying for him. Thanks.

Jose we will keep you and yours in our prayers. It is hard being separated, especially if this is the first time he has been gone for any significant time from home. However, mine had already been on his own 6 years and it was still hard. Forrest said it best, there is so much your son will gain from this experience that he would get no where else. Bravo Zulu, Jose and son
Jose, We will pray for your son as he prepares for Navy Basic Training. we also pray for you during this time. The separation and NO communication is what was hard on me. But let me encourage you in that you and your son are apart of an amazing group of people now and you will get to see your sailor grow like he would NEVER have grown on the outside. You will be SO incredibly proud of him and his accomplishments. Please ask questions and share concerns as they come up with this forum. These moderators are AMAZING and have been there for ME on my journey. Congratulations and welcome aboard...
Hoo Yah and Bravo Zulu to you and you son
