fishdad  I will pray for your son; for his health, strength, rest, comfort, discernment, and his focus.  I will also pray for the relationships in his life.  The sacrifices our military people and their loved ones are great.

I will also pray that the Father show you what and when to specifically pray for your boy.

Lastly, I will pray for your rest.  For some reason, "Peace be Still" comes to mind.

We're asking, yet again, for your prayers for Heath. He and his fiance' called off their engagement today. It's just been too hard with them being stationed on opposite sides of the globe. He's devastated. And this on top of the news that he's being separated is just too heavy a burden on top of everything else from this past year. We'd appreciate if you could once again come alongside us in prayer.

Thank you all so much. Knowing that you're all always there and willing to stand with us means so very much.

And Blondie...how is your daughter doing? We miss hearing from you!

Forrest,

We're praying for your son to get some sleep. Unfortunately, this is common in the Military. Our son has been struggling with it for almost a year. We are praying for sweet sleep for him, not only tonight, but in the days (nights) to come. God, does indeed, give rest to the weary.

take comfort Forrest...the body will adjust and when he needs the sleep it will come.  Carrier life can be a trying experience and it can take some time to develop a routine......if not, he should visit medical and evaluate diet for stimulants like soda, coffee and naturally energy drinks....

Thank you for your prayers.  I'm overwhelmed...

This is important, Forrest.  A Sailor can't do his/her job well without proper sleep.  Prayers will be sent up for him to have peace and calm and be able to sleep.  In the meantime, give him an old fashioned remedy; drink some warm milk before going to sleep is possible.  Also, when to much is spinning in my mind and I can't sleep, I silently recite the Lord's Prayer and start prayers.  Praying I guess brings me such calm that I usually fall asleep.

I have a prayer request, but it pales in comparison to what I have read on this page.  Nevertheless, it is a prayer request I would love some innercession help with.

My son is finding it difficult to sleep.  He is on deployment aboard the Eisenhower and has been awake for a couple of days now.  Please ask the Father for sweet sleep for him tonight.

Thank you all...

A Holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.
In the middle of the room was a large round table..
... In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew,
which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly.
They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.
But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell.

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water.
The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, 'I don't understand.
'It is simple,' said the Lord. 'It requires but one skill...
You see, they have learned to feed each other.
The greedy think only of themselves.'

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you.

Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day
is the rest we take between two deep breaths,
or the turning inwards in prayer for five short minutes.
